An End to 2024: Celebrating a Year of Growth and Achievement

As we approach the end of another year, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey I've had as a small business owner in 2024. It's been a year filled with growth, creativity, and a sense of fulfillment that I want to share with you all.

This year, I reached a significant milestone with the most amount of sales in one year, 500! Each sale represents not just a transaction but a connection with someone who appreciates my work. It truly warms my heart to know that my art has found a place in so many homes.

I also had the privilege of hosting 10 private workshops, where I had the chance to share my passion for illustration with others. Seeing participants engage with their creativity and leave with their own pieces has been incredibly rewarding. Additionally, I worked 20 market days, traveling as far as St Andrews and Aberdeen. Each market was an opportunity to meet wonderful people and showcase my art in vibrant communities.

In terms of commissions, I completed 12 projects, both big and small. Each commission challenged me and allowed me to push my creative boundaries, making me feel more confident in my artistic abilities. I’ve developed my style further this year, embracing new techniques and themes, and finding comfort in painting anything that comes my way.

I’m also proud to share that I crafted 130 ceramic pieces, less than the previous year, but better qualitiy pieces, expanding my pottery skills. This year, I introduced tea towels as a new product, and the response has been fantastic! With over 200 products now available, I feel like I’ve built a diverse range of offerings that reflect my journey as an artist.

One of the highlights of my year was gaining two new wholesale customers, which has helped me reach a broader audience and share my work with even more people. Learning to throw enclosed forms in pottery has been another exciting development; it’s a skill I’ve always wanted to master, and I’m thrilled to have made progress in this area.

Throughout 2024, I’ve felt a sense of stability and happiness with my progress. It’s been a transformative year that has solidified my identity not just as a lady who paints, but as a proper business owner. I’m grateful for all the experiences, challenges, and moments of joy that this year has brought.

As we move into the new year, I’m excited about what lies ahead. Thank you for being part of my journey, and here’s to many more creative adventures in 2025!

My new goal for 2025 is to create a habit in posting newsletters, social media is great but I never feel like I can get the true story across, but a news page on my website seems like a great way to keep in contact and share my news without feeling the social media comparision failure. Thank you for reading and I hope you have a great Christmas Season, my studio is open Wedneday-Saturday 10-4 and Christmas Eve Morning 9-12!
