Wick Harbour, Scottish highlands
The Wick harbour, as most sea side towns are a place of nostalgia for everyone, Wick harbour is no exception - for me I grew up in Northern Ireland so Port Stewart and Port Rush where the obvious choices but since moving to the highlands, my partner has some really lovely memories of Wick Harbour - The events, races, gatherings, family days out and don't forget about his fishing and jumping off of rocks exbiditions. As we now live a stones throw away from the Harbour itself I really wanted to personally paint this scene, not only for myself but also because I know so many other people will have fond memories of the harbour.
I really wanted to bring a feeling of fun and the fresh air of summer to this painting so I really hope you think I succeeded.
